Seminar: The changing face of fashion in light of social media and legal issues

Brands, designers, influencers share their creations with their public on social media, a marketplace that seems to be growing bigger and bigger. However, this is a market-space that creates as many opportunities as it does generate pitfalls and challenges.  We need to consider the impact of IP rights in designs and models, images and trademarks on social media as well as the use of personal data. The role of influencers is undeniable but they often operate in a grey zone. Enforcement of IP rights needs to be 'social media strategic' and strategies on how to target counterfeits on social media aren't simple. This seminar will bring together several experts from within the sector to reflect and discuss the most pressing issues facing this industry.

The seminar will take place on January 21st from 1:30 pm to 5:45 pm at the Antwerp Management School.
