Legal Partnerships
In June 2007, KOAN became a member of Multilaw, a leading global network of independent law firms.
Why did we opt for a partnership with Multilaw? Why is this network so important to us? What is the added value for our clients? You will find a word of explanation hereunder.
Local insight
:
We at KOAN
chose to be an independent firm, not part of a larger conglomerate of large UK
or US firms. We want to determine our own course, develop our own strategies,
with the aim of offering flexible and customized quality services, easily
adapted to the particularities of a domestic environment, and do so at
competitive rates thanks to the substantially lower overhead costs of an
independent firm.
And looking
back on 17 years of
KOAN now, we can safely say that our choice for this approach was in all
respects the right one.
Global
presence:
But our
international clientele and local clientele with international projects require
at the same time cross boarder legal assistance, adapted to any domestic market
in the world in which they are active or intend to develop business, and not in
the least.
To answer our
clients’ need for cross boarder expert legal advice, we decided in 2007 to
enter into a partnership with Multilaw (www.multilaw.com) a global network
consisting of more than 90 leading and highly reputable law firms in more than
100 countries, gathering approximately 10.000 specialized lawyers, offering
state of the art solutions in more than 150 commercial centers worldwide.
Founded in
1990, Multilaw is not just another international network. It is ranked
in the “Elite band” of Global Legal Networks by the 2020 Chambers and Partners
Global Guide. Only 9 such networks in the world have achieved such a ranking
and it affirms the exceptional quality of Multilaw and its members. Quality is
among other things guaranteed by a rigorous selection procedure and strict
acceptance criteria for new members, yearly quality appraisals of all existing
members and the firm commitment of each member to share common values in every
area of service delivery by championing integrity, collaboration,
professionalism and trust.
Our
partnership with Multilaw has proven to be one of the major strengths of our
services, namely the capability of offering our clients effective solutions
tailored to the specificities of each of the local markets in which they
operate, on a global scale.
