Jean-Michel is involved in developing activities relating to the entertainment, film production, media and new media industry. Jean-Michel is specialised in audiovisual & media law, copyright & entertainment law and has developed a practice in sports law.
Before joining Koan in 2013, Jean-Michel was Vice Deputy General Counsel to the French national broadcaster France Télévisions for over 15 years. During this period, he was also in charge of the new media legal activities of the subsidiary France Télévisions Interactive. From 2005 till 2013, Jean-Michel was also Chairman of the sports legal group of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) based in Geneva (Switzerland). With all this professional experience, Jean-Michel had the opportunity to acquire an extensive knowledge of the abovementioned sectors.
Jean-Michel assists his clients in negotiations and litigations at both the national and international level. His clients include national and foreign broadcasters, independent producers, sports rights holders, athletes, sponsors, advertisers and digital communication agency.
Jean-Michel is a certified mediator with CMAP, the Centre for mediation and arbitration of Paris.
